Fried Bee Hoon

Fried Bee Hoon, also known as Singapore-style noodles, is a flavorful and light dish made with thin rice vermicelli noodles stir-fried with a variety of ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Scallions - 2, chopped
  • White pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Shrimp - 200 grams
  • Bell pepper - 1, julienned
  • Carrot - 1, julienned
  • Onion - 1, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vermicelli noodles - 200 grams

Instructions

  1. Soak the rice vermicelli noodles in warm water for 15 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the garlic and onion and stir-fry until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the carrot and bell pepper and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the shrimp and stir-fry until they turn pink.
  6. Add the drained noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and white pepper. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the noodles are well coated with the sauce and heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped scallions before serving.
