Fig and Bacon Wrapped Figs with Balsamic Reduction

These delicious appetizers feature fresh figs wrapped in crispy bacon and drizzled with a tangy balsamic reduction.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 sprig
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1/2 cup
  • Bacon slices - 6
  • Fresh figs - 12

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut each fig in half lengthwise.
  3. Wrap each fig half with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  4. Place the wrapped figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.
  6. While the figs are baking, prepare the balsamic reduction.
  7. In a small saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar, honey, and fresh rosemary.
  8. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mixture has thickened.
  9. Remove the rosemary sprig and let the reduction cool slightly.
  10. Once the figs are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
  11. Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the bacon-wrapped figs.
  12. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
