Ingredients
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Powdered sugar - 1 cup
Cream cheese - 4 ounces
Cinnamon - 2 tablespoons
Brown sugar - 1 cup
Salt - 1 teaspoon
All - purpose flour - 4 cups
Eggs - 2
Active dry yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons
Butter - 1/4 cup
Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
Milk - 1 cup
Instructions
Warm the milk, granulated sugar, and butter until the butter is melted. Let it cool until it reaches a lukewarm temperature, then add the yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add them to the milk mixture.
Mix in the flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it's smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for 1 hour.
Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon over the dough.
Roll up the dough tightly and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Place the pieces in a greased baking dish, cover them with a towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the cinnamon rolls at 350°F for 25 minutes, or until they're golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
Spread the icing over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
