Churros Con Caramelo

Delicious Spanish churros served with a rich caramel sauce.

Ingredients

  • Caramel sauce - For serving
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Vegetable oil - For frying
  • Eggs - 3
  • All - purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Butter - 1/2 cup
  • Water - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and add flour. Stir until the mixture forms a ball.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually add the beaten eggs to the dough, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or pot.
  5. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe the dough into hot oil, cutting it with scissors or a knife to the desired length.
  7. Fry the churros until golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally.
  8. Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  9. In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Roll the warm churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Serve the churros with caramel sauce for dipping.
