Bourbon Glazed Burger

A juicy burger glazed with a sweet and smoky bourbon sauce, topped with caramelized onions.

Ingredients

  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Lettuce - 4 leaves
  • Burger buns - 4
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Onions - 2, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Bourbon - 1/4 cup
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Ground beef - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. Season the ground beef with salt and pepper and form into 4 patties.
  2. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the burgers for 5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine the bourbon, brown sugar, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until reduced by half.
  4. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
  5. Brush the burgers with the bourbon glaze and cook for an additional minute on each side.
  6. Serve the burgers on the buns with the caramelized onions, lettuce, and tomato.
