Bacalhau À Gomes de Sá

Bacalhau à Gomes de Sá is a traditional Portuguese dish made with salted cod, potatoes, onions, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and garnished with parsley.

Ingredients

  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Hard - boiled eggs - 2, sliced
  • Black olives - 1/2 cup
  • Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onions - 2, thinly sliced
  • Potatoes - 4 large, peeled and sliced
  • Salted cod - 500 grams, soaked in water overnight, drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil the cod and potatoes in separate pots until they are both tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and cook until they are soft and golden.
  4. Flake the cod into pieces and add it to the pan with the onions and garlic. Cook for a few minutes, then add the potatoes and mix well.
  5. Season with salt and pepper, then transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  6. Top with the sliced hard-boiled eggs and olives.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the top is golden and crispy.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
