The Aussie Burger, also known as the burger with 'the lot', is a quintessential Australian dish. It's a beef burger packed with traditional toppings like beetroot, pineapple, a fried egg, and more.

Ingredients

  • Mayonnaise - To taste
  • Ketchup - To taste
  • Bacon - 4 slices
  • Eggs - 4
  • Cheddar cheese - 4 slices
  • Pineapple rings - 4
  • Beetroot slices - 8
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Lettuce - 4 leaves
  • Hamburger buns - 4
  • Ground beef - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. Preheat a grill or barbecue to medium-high heat.
  2. Shape the ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your liking.
  4. While the patties are cooking, fry the bacon and eggs in a separate pan.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill.
  6. To assemble the burgers, spread ketchup and mayonnaise on the buns. Add the lettuce, tomato, beetroot, pineapple, and cheese to the bottom bun.
  7. Place the cooked patty on top of the cheese, then top with the fried egg and bacon.
  8. Finish with the top bun and serve immediately.
