Apple Cider Doughnuts

These homemade apple cider doughnuts are perfect for the fall season. They're sweet, fluffy, and full of apple flavor.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon sugar - For coating
  • Vegetable oil - For frying
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Nutmeg - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Eggs - 2
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons, melted
  • Sugar - 3/4 cup
  • Apple cider - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, melted butter, and eggs.
  2. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the apple cider and milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  6. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut with a doughnut cutter.
  7. Fry the doughnuts, a few at a time, until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
  8. While still warm, coat the doughnuts in cinnamon sugar.
