Cider Doughnuts

These delicious doughnuts are a fall favorite, made with apple cider and dusted with cinnamon sugar.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon sugar - For dusting
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Granulated sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Apple cider - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, reduce the apple cider over medium heat until it is reduced to 1/4 cup.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg, then stir in the reduced apple cider.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 1 hour.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F and grease a doughnut pan.
  8. Fill the doughnut pan with the batter, then bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. While the doughnuts are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar.
