Ingredients

  • Walnuts - 1/2 cup, chopped (optional)
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Vegetable oil - 1/3 cup
  • Eggs - 3
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 cup
  • All - purpose flour - 2 cups
  • Amish friendship bread starter - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, oil, milk, vanilla, and Amish Friendship Bread Starter together.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Stir in the walnuts, if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
