Zobo Drink
Zobo drink is a refreshing Nigerian beverage made from dried hibiscus petals and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Mint leaves - For garnish
- Ice cubes - As needed
- Lemon juice - 1/4 cup
- Pineapple juice - 1 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Cinnamon sticks - 2
- Cloves - 5
- Ginger - 1 knob, peeled and sliced
- Water - 8 cups
- Dried hibiscus petals - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the dried hibiscus petals, water, ginger, cloves, and cinnamon sticks.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
- Stir in the sugar, pineapple juice, and lemon juice until the sugar is dissolved.
- Refrigerate the zobo drink for at least 2 hours to chill.
- Serve the zobo drink over ice cubes and garnish with mint leaves.
