Sekanjabin
Sekanjabin is a refreshing Persian drink. This sweet and sour syrup is made with just a few ingredients, and can be served with lettuce in the summer.
Ingredients - Serves 10
- Ice - As needed
- Cucumber - 1, sliced (optional)
- Mint - 1/2 cup, fresh
- White vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Sugar - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the vinegar. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the mint to the saucepan and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Strain the syrup and discard the mint. Let the syrup cool.
- To serve, dilute the syrup with water to taste, add ice, and garnish with cucumber slices if desired.
