Olive Oil and Sea Salt Popcorn
A simple and healthy snack, this popcorn is popped in olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt for a gourmet twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon or to taste
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Popcorn kernels - 1/2 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot with a tight-fitting lid, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add 3 popcorn kernels to the pot and cover.
- When the kernels pop, add the rest of the popcorn kernels and cover the pot again.
- Shake the pot occasionally to make sure the heat is evenly distributed.
- When the popping slows to about 2 seconds between pops, remove the pot from the heat and let it sit covered for 1 minute to make sure all the kernels have popped.
- Remove the lid, sprinkle the popcorn with sea salt, and toss it to distribute the salt.
- Serve the popcorn immediately, or store it in an airtight container.
