Nem Chua Ran
Nem Chua Rán is a Vietnamese dish made with fermented pork, wrapped in rice paper, and deep-fried until crispy.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chili peppers - 2, sliced (optional)
- Fish sauce - For dipping
- Mint leaves - 10 leaves
- Lettuce leaves - 10 leaves
- Cooking oil - For deep-frying
- Rice paper - 10 sheets
- Fermented pork - 500 grams
Let's Get Started
- Slice the fermented pork into thin strips.
- Take one sheet of rice paper and dip it in warm water for a few seconds until it becomes pliable.
- Place a lettuce leaf and a mint leaf on the lower half of the rice paper.
- Add a few strips of fermented pork on top of the lettuce and mint leaves.
- Fold the sides of the rice paper over the filling, then roll it up tightly.
- Repeat the process with the remaining rice paper and filling.
- Heat cooking oil in a deep pan or pot.
- Carefully place the rolled Nem Chua Rán into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove the Nem Chua Rán from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with fish sauce for dipping and sliced chili peppers (optional) for added spice.
