Mote Con Huesillo
Mote con Huesillo is a traditional Chilean drink made with dried peaches, husked wheat, and sweet spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Ice cubes - To serve
- Water - 4 cups
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon sticks - 2
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Husked wheat (mote) - 1 cup
- Dried peaches - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, combine the dried peaches, husked wheat, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and water.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until the peaches and wheat are tender.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves from the pot.
- Serve the mote con huesillo in glasses, including some of the cooked peaches and wheat in each glass.
- Add ice cubes to each glass and enjoy!
