Gratin de Haricots Verts

Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the haricots verts and cook for 3-4 minutes, until crisp-tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the grated Gruyere cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Place the cooked haricots verts in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over them. Mix well to coat the beans.
  7. In a small bowl, combine the grated Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the beans.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot as a side dish.
