Galette Complete
Galette Complète is a traditional French buckwheat crepe filled with ham, cheese, and an egg.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Gruyere cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Ham - 4 slices
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Milk - 1 cup
- Eggs - 2
- Buckwheat flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the buckwheat flour, eggs, milk, and salt until smooth.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into the skillet and swirl it around to form a thin crepe.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the edges start to brown. Flip the crepe and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- Transfer the cooked crepe to a plate and repeat with the remaining batter.
- Place a slice of ham and a sprinkle of grated Gruyere cheese on one half of each crepe.
- Fold the other half of the crepe over the filling to form a half-moon shape.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium heat.
- Carefully crack an egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny.
- Place the cooked egg on top of the filled crepe.
- Repeat with the remaining egg and crepes.
- Serve the Galette Complète warm and enjoy!
