Frutta Martorana
Frutta Martorana are traditional marzipan sweets, in the form of fruits and vegetables, from the Sicilian region of Italy.

- Icing sugar - For dusting
- Food coloring - Various colors
- Almond extract - 1 teaspoon
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Almond meal - 2 cups

- Combine the almond meal and sugar in a bowl.
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and then pour over the almond meal and sugar mixture. Stir until a paste forms.
- Add the almond extract and knead the mixture until it becomes a dough.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape into various fruits and vegetables using your hands or moulds.
- Use the food coloring to paint the marzipan fruits and vegetables. Allow them to dry.
- Dust with icing sugar before serving.
