Endive and Bacon Gratin

Endive and Bacon Gratin

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Trim the endive heads and remove any wilted outer leaves.
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the endive and cook for 5 minutes, or until tender. Drain well.
  4. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the grated Gruyere cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Place the cooked endive in a baking dish and pour the cheese sauce over the top.
  8. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
