Ellinikos
Ellinikos, also known as Greek coffee, is a strong brew served with foam on top and the grounds in the bottom of the cup.
Ingredients - Serves 1
- Water - 1 demitasse cup
- Sugar - 1-2 teaspoons (optional)
- Greek coffee - 2 teaspoons
Let's Get Started
- Measure the water in the cup you are going to use and pour it into a small pot.
- Add the coffee and sugar to the pot and stir.
- Heat the pot over medium heat until the coffee starts to froth. Be careful not to let it boil over.
- As soon as the froth starts to rise, remove the pot from the heat.
- Pour the coffee slowly into the cup, making sure to get all the froth on top.
- Let the coffee sit for a few minutes to allow the grounds to settle to the bottom of the cup before drinking.
