Cola de Mono
Cola de Mono is a traditional Chilean Christmas drink made with aguardiente, milk, coffee, spices, and sugar.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Orange peel - 1 strip
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Cloves - 4
- Cinnamon sticks - 2
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Instant coffee - 2 tablespoons
- Milk - 2 cups
- Aguardiente - 1 cup

- In a saucepan, combine the aguardiente, milk, instant coffee, sugar, cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla extract, and orange peel.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and strain the mixture to remove the spices and orange peel.
- Let the Cola de Mono cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a bottle or pitcher and refrigerate until chilled.
- Serve the Cola de Mono cold in glasses, garnished with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon if desired.
