Chou Doufu
Chou Doufu, also known as Stinky Tofu, is a popular Chinese street food. It's fermented tofu with a strong odor, deep-fried and served with chili sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander - For garnish
- Pickled cabbage - For serving
- Chili sauce - To taste
- Vegetable oil - For deep frying
- Stinky tofu - 4 pieces
Let's Get Started
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F (190°C).
- Carefully lower the tofu into the hot oil and deep-fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
- Remove the tofu with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve the tofu hot with chili sauce, pickled cabbage, and garnished with fresh coriander.
