  2. Mix the ricotta cheese and sugar together until smooth.

  4. Moisten the cake layers with the liqueur, then spread the ricotta mixture between the layers.
  5. Reassemble the cake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  6. Before serving, dust the top of the cake with icing sugar.
