Bauru
Bauru is a popular Brazilian sandwich. The traditional recipe calls for cheese (usually mozzarella) melted in a bain-marie, slices of roast beef, tomato and pickled cucumber in a French bun with the crumb (the soft part of bread) removed.
Ingredients - Serves 1
- Pickled cucumber - 2, sliced
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Mozzarella cheese - 50 grams
- Roast beef slices - 100 grams
- French bun - 1
Let's Get Started
- Cut the French bun in half and remove the crumb.
- In a bain-marie, melt the mozzarella cheese until it becomes a creamy liquid.
- Place the roast beef slices, tomato slices and pickled cucumber on one half of the French bun.
- Pour the melted cheese over the ingredients.
- Cover with the other half of the French bun.
- Serve immediately while the cheese is still warm.
