Bauru

Bauru is a popular Brazilian sandwich. The traditional recipe calls for cheese (usually mozzarella) melted in a bain-marie, slices of roast beef, tomato and pickled cucumber in a French bun with the crumb (the soft part of bread) removed.

Let's Get Started

  1. Cut the French bun in half and remove the crumb.
  2. In a bain-marie, melt the mozzarella cheese until it becomes a creamy liquid.
  3. Place the roast beef slices, tomato slices and pickled cucumber on one half of the French bun.
  4. Pour the melted cheese over the ingredients.
  5. Cover with the other half of the French bun.
  6. Serve immediately while the cheese is still warm.
