Let's Get Started

  1. Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil.
  2. Carefully place the balut eggs into the boiling water.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium and let the eggs simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the eggs from the pot and let them cool slightly.
  5. Tap the top of each egg to crack the shell, then peel off the top portion.
  6. Sprinkle some salt on the exposed yolk and white.
  7. Serve the balut eggs with vinegar for dipping.
  8. To eat, sip the broth inside the egg, then scoop out the yolk and white with a spoon.
