Bacon and Cheddar Biscuits
These savory bacon and cheddar biscuits are perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.
Ingredients - Serves 12
- Milk - 3/4 cup
- Cheddar cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Bacon - 6 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Cold unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, diced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Baking powder - 1 tablespoon
- All-purpose flour - 2 cups
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold diced butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cooked and crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the milk. Stir until just combined.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.
- Roll out the dough to a 1-inch thickness and use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits.
