Prawn Fritters

Delicious and crispy prawn fritters made with fresh prawns and a flavorful batter.

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil - For frying
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Baking powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cornstarch - 1/4 cup
  • All - purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Prawns - 1 pound, peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Add the beaten egg and water to the dry ingredients. Mix well to form a smooth batter.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot.
  4. Dip each prawn into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated, and carefully place it into the hot oil.
  5. Fry the prawn fritters in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the fritters from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. Serve the prawn fritters hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
