Pork Tacos

These flavorful pork tacos are made with tender slow-cooked pork and topped with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • Lime - 1, cut into wedges
  • Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Avocado - 1, sliced
  • Tortillas - 8
  • Chicken broth - 1 cup
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Chili powder - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1, chopped
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Pork shoulder - 2 pounds

Instructions

  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, chili powder, and cumin to the pot. Cook until the onion is soft and the spices are fragrant.
  4. Add the chicken broth to the pot and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded with a fork.
  5. Remove the pork from the pot and shred it with a fork.
  6. Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat until warm.
  7. Top each tortilla with shredded pork, sliced avocado, chopped cilantro, and a squeeze of lime juice.
