Moroccan Spiced Rice Pudding

This creamy and aromatic rice pudding is infused with Moroccan spices for a delightful twist on a classic dessert.

Ingredients

  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Rose water - 1 teaspoon
  • Slivered almonds - 1/4 cup
  • Raisins - 1/4 cup
  • Ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 4 cups
  • Basmati rice - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked and the mixture has thickened.
  4. Stir in the raisins, slivered almonds, and rose water. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let the rice pudding cool for a few minutes.
  6. Serve warm or chilled, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with additional cinnamon if desired.
