Mi Char

Mi Char is a delicious Chinese stir-fried noodle dish with a savory sauce and a variety of vegetables and proteins.

Ingredients

  • Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Fish sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Oyster sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Chicken breast - 8 ounces, thinly sliced
  • Bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
  • Cabbage - 2 cups, shredded
  • Carrots - 2 medium, julienned
  • Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Mi char noodles - 8 ounces

Instructions

  1. Cook the Mi Char noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sliced onion. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add the julienned carrots, shredded cabbage, and sliced bell pepper. Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
  5. Push the vegetables to one side of the wok and add the thinly sliced chicken breast to the other side. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Pour the sauce over the cooked chicken and vegetables. Stir to combine.
  7. Add the cooked Mi Char noodles to the wok and toss everything together until well coated in the sauce.
  8. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the noodles are heated through.
  9. Serve the Mi Char hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
