Meatball and Pepperoni Sandwich

This delicious sandwich is made with homemade meatballs, pepperoni, marinara sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • Fresh basil - A few leaves
  • Parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons, grated
  • Mozzarella cheese - 1/2 cup, shredded
  • Marinara sauce - 1/2 cup
  • Pepperoni slices - 12
  • Sub rolls - 2
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Egg - 1
  • Breadcrumbs - 1/4 cup
  • Ground beef - 1/2 pound

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. Slice the sub rolls in half lengthwise.
  6. Spread marinara sauce on both sides of the rolls.
  7. Layer the pepperoni slices on one side of the rolls.
  8. Place the cooked meatballs on top of the pepperoni.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese over the meatballs.
  10. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
  12. Serve hot and enjoy!
