Marsala Wine Sauce

This rich and flavorful Marsala wine sauce is perfect for enhancing the taste of meats and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
  • Chicken or vegetable broth - 1 cup
  • Marsala wine - 1 cup
  • Mushrooms - 8 ounces, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Shallots - 2, finely chopped
  • Butter - 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the shallots and garlic, and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown, about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour in the Marsala wine and broth, and bring to a simmer.
  5. Cook for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced by half.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Simmer for another 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  9. Serve the Marsala wine sauce over your favorite meat or vegetables.
