Mandu Dumplings

Mandu dumplings are a popular Korean dish filled with a savory mixture of meat and vegetables, wrapped in a thin dough and steamed or fried.

Ingredients

  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Wonton wrappers - 24
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
  • Ground pork - 1/2 pound

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle. Press the edges to seal.
  3. Repeat with the remaining filling and wrappers.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the dumplings and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the water to the skillet and cover. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through and the water has evaporated.
  6. Serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice.
