Karbonader

Karbonader is a traditional Norwegian dish made with ground pork, breadcrumbs, and spices. It is typically served with potatoes and lingonberry sauce.

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Egg - 1
  • Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
  • Ground pork - 500 grams

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the karbonader patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve the karbonader with boiled potatoes and lingonberry sauce.
