Jiaozi

Jiaozi is a traditional Chinese dumpling that is typically filled with ground pork and vegetables. These dumplings are boiled or pan-fried and served with a dipping sauce.

Ingredients

  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Wonton wrappers - 1 package
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Green onions - 1/2 cup, finely chopped
  • Napa cabbage - 1 cup, finely chopped
  • Ground pork - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, Napa cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  3. Dip your finger in water and run it along the edges of the wrapper.
  4. Fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges together to seal.
  5. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  6. Add the dumplings and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until they float to the surface.
  7. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon and serve with a dipping sauce.
