Chicken Jalfrezi is a flavorful and spicy Indian dish made with chicken, bell peppers, onions, and a blend of aromatic spices.

Ingredients

  • Fresh coriander leaves - For garnish
  • Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - To taste
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green chilies - 2, chopped
  • Ginger - 1-inch piece, grated
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Tomatoes - 2, chopped
  • Bell peppers - 2, thinly sliced
  • Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
  • Chicken breast - 500 grams, boneless and cut into cubes

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
  3. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green chilies. Sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the chicken cubes and cook until they are no longer pink.
  5. Add the sliced bell peppers and chopped tomatoes. Cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  7. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the flavors are well combined.
  8. Sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
  10. Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
