Gondi

Gondi is a traditional Persian meatball soup made with ground chicken, chickpea flour, and aromatic spices.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Chicken broth - 6 cups
  • Salt and pepper - To taste
  • Cardamom - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Chickpea flour - 1 cup
  • Ground chicken - 1 pound

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, chickpea flour, onion, garlic, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
  4. Carefully drop the meatballs into the boiling broth and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  5. Cook the meatballs for about 30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  6. Stir in the lemon juice and fresh cilantro.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
