Dak Galbi

Dak Galbi is a popular Korean dish made with marinated chicken, vegetables, and spicy sauce.

Ingredients

  • Black pepper - To taste
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochujang (korean red pepper paste) - 3 tablespoons
  • Rice cakes - 1 cup
  • Sweet potato - 1, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Green onions - 1/2 cup, chopped
  • Carrots - 1 cup, julienned
  • Cabbage - 2 cups, thinly sliced
  • Chicken thighs - 1.5 lbs, boneless and skinless, cut into bite-sized pieces

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated chicken and stir-fry for about 5 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.
  5. Add the cabbage, carrots, green onions, sweet potato, and rice cakes to the skillet. Stir-fry for another 5 minutes.
  6. Continue cooking and stirring until the vegetables are tender and the rice cakes are soft.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
