Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Rolls

These delicious homemade cinnamon rolls are filled with chocolate chips and topped with a creamy glaze.

Ingredients

  • Milk - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar - 1 cup
  • Ground cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
  • Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Chocolate chips - 1 cup
  • Egg - 1
  • Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup, melted
  • Milk - 1 cup, warmed
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Active dry yeast - 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • All - purpose flour - 4 cups

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle shape on a floured surface.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the dough.
  8. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  9. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log shape.
  10. Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.
  11. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving some space between each roll.
  12. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  13. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk to make the glaze.
  14. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.
  15. Serve and enjoy!
