This indulgent breakfast dish combines the flavors of bananas foster with classic French toast.
Ingredients
Powdered sugar - For dusting
Maple syrup - For serving
Bread slices - 4 thick slices
Milk - 1/2 cup
Eggs - 4
Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Brown sugar - 2 tablespoons
Butter - 2 tablespoons
Bananas - 2 ripe, sliced
Instructions
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the sliced bananas, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract to the skillet. Cook until the bananas are caramelized and the sugar has melted, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
