Banana Cream Tart

This delicious banana cream tart features a buttery crust, creamy banana filling, and a fluffy whipped cream topping.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate shavings - For garnish
  • Whipped cream - 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Milk - 2 cups
  • Cornstarch - 1/4 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Bananas - 3 ripe, sliced
  • Butter - 1/2 cup, melted
  • Crust - 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom and sides of a tart pan.
  3. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and cornstarch. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth.
  5. Cook the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Place the sliced bananas on top of the cooled crust.
  8. Pour the hot milk mixture over the bananas, spreading it evenly.
  9. Let the tart cool for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
  10. Before serving, spread whipped cream over the top of the tart and garnish with chocolate shavings.
  11. Slice and serve chilled.
