Thali

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Cook the basmati rice in a rice cooker or on the stove top until it's fluffy and cooked through.
  2. Boil the toor dal in a pressure cooker until it's soft and mushy. Season it with salt, turmeric, and a tadka of ghee, cumin seeds, and asafoetida.
  3. Chop the mixed vegetables and cook them in a pan with some ghee, salt, and your choice of spices until they're soft and cooked through.
  4. Make a soft dough with the wheat flour and some water. Roll out small circles and cook them on a hot tawa with some ghee until they're golden brown and puffed up.
  5. Serve the cooked rice, dal, vegetables, and roti on a thali. Add a serving of curd and mixed salad on the side.
  6. Finish off with a sweet dish of your choice.
