Tequila Sazerac
A twist on the classic Sazerac cocktail, this version uses tequila for a unique and flavorful twist.
Ingredients - Serves 1
- Ice - As needed
- Lemon peel - 1
- Peychaud's bitters - 3 dashes
- Simple syrup - 1/4 ounce
- Absinthe - 1/4 ounce
- Tequila - 2 ounces
Let's Get Started
- Chill an old-fashioned glass by filling it with ice and letting it sit while preparing the cocktail.
- In a separate mixing glass, combine tequila, simple syrup, and bitters.
- Add ice to the mixing glass and stir until well chilled.
- Discard the ice from the old-fashioned glass and rinse it with absinthe, coating the inside of the glass.
- Strain the tequila mixture into the absinthe-rinsed glass.
- Express the oils from the lemon peel over the drink, then garnish with the peel.
- Serve and enjoy!
