Szechuan Beef Stir Fry
This Szechuan beef stir fry is a spicy and flavorful dish made with tender beef, vegetables, and a delicious Szechuan sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cooked rice - 4 cups (for serving)
- Green onions - 2, chopped (for garnish)
- Szechuan sauce - 1/4 cup
- Onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Green bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Red bell pepper - 1, thinly sliced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Szechuan peppercorns - 1 teaspoon, crushed
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Beef sirloin - 1 pound, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, cornstarch, crushed Szechuan peppercorns, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well.
- Add the sliced beef to the bowl and toss to coat the beef with the marinade. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the beef is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes, or until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet and add the Szechuan sauce. Stir fry for another 1-2 minutes, or until the beef and vegetables are coated in the sauce and heated through.
- Serve the Szechuan beef stir fry over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.
