Swiss Chard and Gouda Grilled Cheese
This delicious grilled cheese sandwich features Swiss chard and creamy Gouda cheese for a flavorful twist on a classic.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Bread - 4 slices
- Gouda cheese - 4 slices
- Swiss chard - 4 large leaves
Let's Get Started
- Wash the Swiss chard leaves and remove the stems.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add the Swiss chard leaves to the skillet and sauté until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Remove the Swiss chard from the skillet and set aside.
- Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer each slice with 2 slices of Gouda cheese, sautéed Swiss chard, and another 2 slices of Gouda cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
- Cook the sandwiches over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
