Let's Get Started

  1. Wash the Swiss chard leaves and remove the stems.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  3. Add the Swiss chard leaves to the skillet and sauté until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Remove the Swiss chard from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  6. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  7. Layer each slice with 2 slices of Gouda cheese, sautéed Swiss chard, and another 2 slices of Gouda cheese.
  8. Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side up.
  9. Cook the sandwiches over medium heat until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  10. Remove from the skillet and let cool for a minute before slicing in half.
  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
