Shoyu Ramen
Shoyu Ramen is a classic Japanese noodle soup flavored with soy sauce and topped with various ingredients.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Nori seaweed - 2 sheets, cut into strips
- Bamboo shoots - 1/2 cup, sliced
- Roasted pork belly (chashu) - 8 slices
- Hard-boiled eggs - 2, halved
- Green onions - 4, sliced
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Chicken broth - 4 cups
- Ramen noodles - 2 packs
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In the same pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add chicken broth, soy sauce, and mirin to the pot. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Divide the cooked ramen noodles into serving bowls.
- Pour the hot broth over the noodles, dividing it evenly between the bowls.
- Top each bowl with sliced green onions, halved hard-boiled eggs, roasted pork belly slices, bamboo shoots, and nori seaweed strips.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
