Sai Krok Isan
Sai Krok Isan is a fermented sausage originating from the Isan region of Thailand. It's a unique blend of pork, rice, and a variety of herbs and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Sausage casing - 1 pack
- White sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 10 cloves, minced
- Cooked sticky rice - 200 g
- Ground pork - 1 kg
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground pork, cooked sticky rice, minced garlic, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- Rinse the sausage casing under cold water and keep it in a bowl of water.
- Stuff the pork mixture into the sausage casing and twist it every 3 inches to create links.
- Hang the sausages in a cool, dry place for 2-3 days to ferment.
- After the sausages have fermented, they can be cooked. Grill them over medium heat until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve the sausages with fresh vegetables and spicy chili sauce.
