Roast Chicken
A simple and classic roast chicken recipe that's flavorful and juicy.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh rosemary - A few sprigs
- Fresh thyme - A few sprigs
- Garlic - 1 head, halved
- Lemon - 1, halved
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Whole chicken - 1 (about 4 pounds)
Let's Get Started
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Rinse the chicken inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.
- Season the chicken inside and out with salt and pepper.
- Rub the outside of the chicken with the olive oil.
- Stuff the cavity of the chicken with the lemon, garlic, thyme, and rosemary.
- Place the chicken in a roasting pan and roast for about 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until the juices run clear when you cut between a leg and thigh.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let rest for 15 minutes before carving.
