Portobello Burger
A juicy and flavorful burger made from marinated portobello mushrooms, topped with all your favorite fixings.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Mayonnaise - To taste
- Red onion - 1 small, sliced
- Tomato - 1 large, sliced
- Lettuce - 4 leaves
- Burger buns - 4
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Balsamic vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Portobello mushrooms - 4 large
Let's Get Started
- Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems. Combine the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Marinate the mushrooms in this mixture for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill or a grill pan over medium heat. Grill the mushrooms for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until tender.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading mayonnaise on the buns, then adding the lettuce, tomato, grilled mushroom, and onion.
