Poached Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce
This elegant dish features tender poached salmon topped with a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh dill - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 1 cup, melted
- Egg yolks - 3
- Lemon - 1, sliced
- White wine - 1 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Salmon fillets - 4 pieces
Let's Get Started
- In a large skillet, bring the water, white wine, and sliced lemon to a simmer.
- Gently place the salmon fillets into the simmering liquid and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- While the salmon is cooking, prepare the hollandaise sauce. In a heatproof bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and lemon juice.
- Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water.
- Slowly drizzle in the melted butter while whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
- Season the hollandaise sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the poached salmon from the liquid and transfer to serving plates.
- Pour the hollandaise sauce over the salmon fillets and garnish with fresh dill.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
